I agree with Rockfish on boats.    You will regret buying cheap if you are going to be serious about this sport.   It will absolutely cost you more in the long run.     Much better to buy a good used boat than a new cheap boat.    Tarpons are good boats.

Thanks, all good advice.
I'm gonna cool my jets a little and see if there's an event that fits my schedule. That Tarpon does look kinda appealing though.
