Vans, RVs, leather, lace,  a willing attitude.....

Ahhh yes. All the things I'd be willing to do for a Klondike bar!

Is that your code word for BBC?

Naw, I just really, really love crappy ice milk and jagged shards of fake chocolate.

Interesting to hear about the MLK shoreline that's basically the southern extension of the Oakland estuary right? That must have plenty of striper and I heard  Starry Flounder as well.

Yep, the large-ish body of water between the Harbor Island and High St. bridges, stretching towards the airport on one side and coliseum on the other.

I've actually never fished it (water gets super shallow at low tide. Becomes a mud-flat in spots), but use it for exercise paddles once or twice a week as it's very close to my home.

I have seen a lot of tiny bait fish jumping there over the years, and have startled a few rays, but never seen anything else. That said, on king tides, there's often a good deal of bank fishermen trying for whatever might be there, so it's possible.

I’ve talked to a few Berkeley old timers about Aquatic Park. I’m not 100% sure it’s even legal to fish in there (or if it ever was, for that matter), but they used to catch some BIG stripers near the pipes that connect the lagoons to the Bay. It makes sense - all the bait that comes and goes gets funneled through the pipes - easy pickings for opportunistic predators!

This sounds like a similar fishery to the Brisbane Tubes.
