Wanted to give my newly installed fish finder a test run this evening but was taking care of my 7 year old daughter and only had an hour of light left.

Always wondered about this spot, seen bait here before and apparently it is connected to the bay.....so we gave it a shot.

Fish finder worked fine, got my second paddle on the new ride and confirmed there is bait. Really doubt there are any game fish, deepest spot was only 7'.

Was an interesting feeling to be so isolated while surrounded by thousands of people struggling through the Friday commute home.

Looks so peaceful. A good way to get rid of some stress. I need some of that soon.
Thanks

Certain times of the year, stripers have been known to be caught in there.

Is that alongside the highway and has what looks like a massive water ski jump in it?

Cool, thanks for the pix!

I get the same feeling at MLK shoreline. Calm waters, bunch of birds, surrounded by TONS of people.

Plus there, you can paddle under 880 to back side of the flea market/ PG&E substation at high tide.

Theres plenty of action to be had at aquatic park, but it usually doesn't involve fish.....

Very unusual spot, there's the leather and lace crowd, the commuters waiting for the traffic to die down, the sweet homeless camp with the soler power station, frisbee golf, the fitness nuts and the parents and nannies with the kids at the playground.

Berkeley what a crazy granola mix!

Interesting to hear about the MLK shoreline that's basically the southern extension of the Oakland estuary right? That must have plenty of striper and I heard  Starry Flounder as well.
