I don't know when I'll make it back out on the water so I have some big decisions to make.

It's not if you'll be back on the water but when you'll be back on the water.

Very good advice not to make quick decisions.  Hope you take some real time to make decisions about what fishing looks like in the future for you... and get some edibles for sleeping and pain.  Best of luck.

You'll have to forgive me for the way the comment came off; I'm on pain meds and pretty loopy. The comment about decisions isn't about if I should sell my kayaks. It's about should I leave them in storage or make other arrangements? Maybe take them to my cousins house (barn) up by Tahoe. Should I take them to work and use a winch and pulley's to hang them from the ceiling. If I take them out of storage how do I get them moved since I'm in no shape to car top them on my van by myself? No this is not a plea for help. Just explaining myself.

Other than that I am doing pretty well. It's small steps but I walked about a half mile today so I'm real happy about that.

I had a similar experience.  I was kayak fishing and camping for a weekend, and on Sunday morning my butt hurt, like I had fallen down on it.  Over the next week I became increasingly tired and developed chills and a fever. It turned out I was developing a big abscess.  I ended up having three surgeries and various other procedures.  It took several years to get rid of the problem.

My message: If you feel wasted and have chills and a fever, perhaps accompanied by some localized pain, you may be developing some kind of infection.  Get to a doctor ASAP, get some tests, and find out what's going on.  Don't try to tough it out.
