I tied for leopard sharks and bat rays with no success. We mostly drop crap pots from the kayak with pretty good success. Mostly rock crab, but got a few Dunginess. That was last November.

Welcome to the site otobpelagic!  :smt002

Thanks For the Warm Welcome but it's a little late. I'm just three weeks short of my TENTH YEAR Anniversary  :smt044

Better late than never, right?

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to follow up. I have a campsite at Doran this weekend and my dad's PB. Has anybody fished inside Bodega Harbor for butts? If not why? I know it isn't nearly as popular, but is there a reason there wouldn't be any in there?

I've seen huge halibut taken from inside the harbor, but it's very hard to fish because you can only fish in the channel and it seems like there is ALWAYS boats coming in and out of the harbor and you're constantly reeling up and getting out of their way.

At least that's how my 3 or 4 times fishing for 'buts in there have gone.

I figured that was the case, Gotta do what you gotta do to fish with these windy conditions and a likely clusterf#@% at Nick's Cove.
