The swim bait tails are a personal add on. I had picked up a huge bag of seconds. They were supposed to be black and pearl, but there was a redish tint to them so the manufactor dumped them supercheap and I use them as trailers.

Hmmm...how would one aquire factory seconds? I would totally be interested in buying some, if available. Because those swimbaits are expensive and I go through a TON of em.

BTW: those look awesome...I will likely copy your idea this rockfish season!

I lucked in to them at a local shop.

If you find hoochies for cheap those might be worth a try. I got in to the habit of trailers like that striper trolling in the delta. We would use grubs and broken back rebels. There are a little rattle beads that you can get and insert in to the grub. Something similiar to :  http://lurerattles.com/

Nice stash, Brian!

Bayside Marine in Santa Cruz has a wall-full now.  I picked up a few yesterday in preps for this weekend, anchovy and the standby mackerel patern.  3 oz or 3.5 oz.

Interestingly enough, these were actually the old ones with pace marine on the packaging. Does Todd have the new ones? I am hoping for a 6.5 oz glow model.
