Absolutely Sit On Top.

The main criteria:
1. 50 pounds or less
2. Minimal crabbing (tracks straight via hull config or rudder)
3. Relatively good glide
4. Decent stability

There have been some good suggestions, we are going to start demo paddles, hopefully this weekend.

Frenzys are good boats, been there, done that - from river to lake to ocean (not a good idea with diveing and fishing gear, IMHO) I did that, she wouldn't, she's smarter. We want something a little longer, in 10' or 11' if we can make the weight criteria.

She liked the Wildy 12', but it was a bit heavy for her to load alone, so we are looking a bit shorter.

Have you looked at the tarpon 120 ultralite? 43lbs. It doesn't look like it has slidetrax if that's important, but it is light for the length.

I just picked up a brand new for my inventory. I can bring it to Albion if you want. 50 pounds and paddles really nice.

Looks great, Ken - but $1,400 is out of the range I was hoping for.

How does it track? Is a rudder an option?

Those sound good, Tim.

I've kinda checked those out - specs and stuff, but am hoping for recommendations/endorsements from the NCKA family that have them and /of paddled them. Have you/yours tried them, and if so whatya think?

It's amazing how many choices there are nowadays, I guess we need to plan several trips for tests and trials! Oh, shucks!

It's is drilled and a rudder could be installed or you could order one with. Personally I would paddle it first before installing a rudder.

Agreed, that seems prudent.

I'll bring it to Albion. I'm curious to take it on the ocean.
