It's here again!  Mar 1st.  (Next Thursday) I won't be making the opening day, way to hectic, crowded for me.  Monday or Tuesday though I may be there.

I won't be hitting the opener either but for another reason - work.  I am going to try my luck on Saturday the 3rd - call it bravery or stupidity, I'm not sure.  Looking forward to it, it will be my yack's maiden voyage!   :smt001

Kayaks allowed there? I could never get a response from the people in the know there.

http://www.ci.santa-cruz.ca.us/wt/llra/llra.html      will take you to the site.

Loch Lomond has a few rules.  Boats have to be six feet or longer.  You must wear your flotation device at all times on a kayak.

Kayaks are fine there. They will charge a few extra dollars to bring in a kayak on top of a car. If you go there a lot, I would recommend getting a season pass.

Holdover trout down deep! Kroks and Cleos behind a flasher and a 2oz inline trolling sinker.
The bass there can be very picky. I've seen pics of slug bass caught there but haven't caught any over 2.5lbs. And I hardly ever catch more than 3 in a day. Its weird.
