Might be more beneficial to use an elbow fitting rather than a T-fitting for cleanouts. Some install 2 cleanouts side by side if the intention is to access both sides of the pipe. Good luck on your project.

Got not stripers (not even any strippers), but did get the septic tank outflow replaced today.

Digging was a pain, especially once it got down past 3' or so, but that's what kids are for... Replacing the pipe was easy---literally a 15 minute job. This video shows the process:

Excellent! Exactly how mine was done by the septic guy. Had I known the technique of installation beforehand I would have done what you did but they only charged me $180, actually less than that for a cash deal, so my savings would have been less than yours. Thanks for the vid.

I still can't believe anyone would ask $1750 for this job. There was some digging, but $500 seems like plenty for what we did.

The bad news is that we might yet have to put in a new leach field. We should know whether that's necessary within a few months...

Looks good. DIY job? If so big savings.

  Yes and no
I hired a plumper that knew a little about my tank, (Poured in place concrete) he had equipment to cut new outlet hole thru the tanks wall (About 8" thick) and the hydraulic  cement to seal the new outlet.
