La Paz sounds fun.

You and Your Crew,,,?

 Forget about it …

It's Barcelona, but better, cheaper and whole lot easier to to get to …

Euro Flare, Great Restaurants, Cafes and for the Miss…  :smt061

   Really Fun Shopping …

and yes,  Safe …   :kungfu

Check this place out, basically 4 1/2 star resort that is basically empty right now, except for the gazillionairs from around the world that have their Football Field size boats and penthouses on the property of Costa Baja …  http://www.costabajaresort.com

I'm not staying here, but close by where my kayaks are at a more, "Traditional Mexican Hotel" on the beach and only go to the restaurants at Costa Baja. Costa Baja is where the Romans have returned…

Steve Jobs Boat is here, he never saw it to completion… it looks like it came from the 1920's and is Captain Nimo's surface vessel  … (see pic )

but look it up, friggen cheap… and look it up on those "Price Line Captain Kirk hotel sites…" also check the Hyatt next door… not on the property, but it's the Hyatt at $60 a night ,,,   4 miles out of town, easy shuttles to town or a taxi for a $100 peso,,, $5.63…

oh that's right, the peso has declined again to the US dollar, 19 to 1 … brutal for the Mexican people as many are saying they can't take a vacation this year, but you can help them take a vacation by taking one yourself!!! it's almost criminal… cheap flights to Cabo, check Alaska Air, $35 shuttle to La Paz is one way… ecobajatours.com

or

Get to San Diego, new terminal from the U.S. side directly to the T.J. Airport, Volaris Air straight to La Paz … that's how the locals do it and the New Terminal just opened December. Everyone that has used it says it's the best… separate customs, cruise right through…  cheap…

AHhhhh..  all this talk…

let me show you but a few of what is happening other than kayak fishing, Diving, Spear Fishing, whale shark swimming and whale watching/petting, etc…

internet is laggin, only a few pics

Were you in La Paz last month for Mardi Gras?  The Malecon is wall to wall bands, bars, and ladies.

Another question, have the winds slowed as the weather warms?

Nope, was having Ciriquia, ( Surgery )… missed it Dam it!!! Can't Imagine, well, yes I can, but that must have been turbo charged.. so glad I brought my bike as not only is it a cool ride to town, its an awesome way to get around downtown, especially when they block it off for parties as much as they do… ESPN just had a Marathon here last weekend…, InterNational,  Jesus… I was awake all night from a party 4 miles aways from what they did in the center of town on the Malecon with the street blocked off… insane… before the race!!!??? there were different classes I guess and the race did not start till 3...  :party

Viento!!!  ( Winds… ) are still here… very mild temps wether wise, was 90 but now chilling balmy 78… water temp down… bait scattered, and so are the fish…

anything can happen anywhere basically.. El Nino has everything on the run to nothing at all… I do a lot of what I call  " LFLP …

" Looking for Lost Pelagics …"  and their here, I know this from my loss of prize $250 Peso Blue/White X-Raps that catch everything …

Have to admit, and Thank Goodness as I'm still recovering and pushing it too much as it is..

but fishing in the Bay is off, right now… I have done very well out here, even out fished the fleet one day last August.. that was Awesome.. I became a local Facebook Hero for a day!!…  couple of free beers and a kiss on the cheek from a fair maiden local...

Hows that for a kayakfishign fantasy!!!…

Dorado, Wahoo, have yet to land one, broke me… Damit it!!!  and those were summer months, even though, small Dorado are here now…

This place goes on fire starting July thru October…Dorado Everywhere… and who knows what else..

Miles of bait, flashing like lightening on the surface… my Dam Go Pro battery went dead for than one , but incredible…

Again, these were summer months… I'm not sure what I'm up for right now as everyone is having a hard time getting consistently on fish…

Yellow Tail are here… they are getting them off Pichinque, and Muertos Bay… at Pichinque, one of the Captain's here was spear fishing with clients and he saw them… he then went the other day with other clients, had a live mackerel and got one… 25lb..

All I have to do is drive 10k towards Espiritu Santos from the hotel to Playa Pichingue, awesome drive, beautiful beach with full restaurants and bars… 3 to 4 k paddle to the light house… north side is 40 to 50' deep, sand… the yellow tail are there picking off stuff from the reef off the north side of the light house…

That's on my, " To Do List …"   :smt047

 Pero..  Viento !!!

Total Bien, I've got time and still need to chill …  :surf

In the Bay there are of course residents…, Triggers,,, a place close to the hotel I call, "Pargo Land", Jacks all different breeds running though al the time, and Again, anything can happen,,, I know form what I have caught, seen and talking to locals… what is happening outside, is happening in The Bay of La Paz…

But even these fish get " Lock Jaw…" when the bait is not around and the birds aren't diving.. and lately.. that's the story… wind, then it just chills to incredible… more wind, but if your not fishing, it's friggen Paradise

Retirement?  No I'm not selling time shares or anything else…

just cluing y'al in to La Paz & baja… But this is definitely a place to look at…

It's Awesome …  Amor La Paz   :smt055

I know I waited a long fucking time to make that Baja Drive… always wanted to do it..

I've driven it twice in the last 6 months…  safe?

I have met 2 beautiful young women on the road in my travels in Baja Sur..  :smt061 :smt061

One from Montana,,, Yoga Instructor, on her way to Todos Santos… 5th time driving by herself… never a issue… another young lady from Austria.. flys into Cabo, rents a car and travels Baja Sur, 3rd time… same story…

yes, I'm still married …   :smt012

Take your time.. don't drive at night… military check points are no problem, just treat it like any other traffic stop… turn off the engine, if at night, turn on interior lights, and offer a smoke wether you smoke or not …

and don't have shinny things like flashlights or knives assessable.. they love that stuff…

Take a trip Mi Amigos…

It's just down the road ..

just got home from Hanging with my bros who turn out to be the pink floyd tribute band at, " The Jungle …" tonight…

Blew me away… I thought it was supposed to be some hot shit band from Mexcio City as they brought in a stage and all kinds of stuff…

Diverticulitus came back with a passion and landed me in the hospital for 5 days awaiting emergency surgery… long story longer… 3 weeks at home recovering to have surgery and it was finally done last month and I now have 1/3 less of my colon and am recovering in La Paz

Welcome to the two-thirds club!
Take er easy on the recovery though. Don't want to pull any stitches, and it's real easy to get dehydrated.

thanks for the tip on "Hydration.." still having weird pains and that makes sense… thanks!!!  ouch…  :smt108

"and don't have shinny things like flashlights or knives assessable.. they love that stuff…"

I always stock up on Harbor Freight's mini flashlights for the drive to Los Barriles.  Hand them out like candy at the military checkpoints.

If you need any bike work, check out East Cape Bicicletas in Los Barriles.  Lots of bike trails to ride.

Right with ya on handing out the flashlites… it's works, they really appreciate it.. I just find I'm giving away the store down here!!!

I first found out about this by the lead guy at the check point going through my counsel, grabbing a flashlight and what I thought he said was, " How much money do you have…"

I had been here awhile and I did not care if you have a gun and can throw me in jail or what…  I told him quite intensely,

 "I'm not giving you any money…"   :cowboy_cool:

"No No No senor… I'm asking how much a flashlite like this cost in the states…"  a little hard to negotiate with his buddies riffling through your stuff especially when they were getting close to my pot!!!

so I gave it to him and all was well … don't smoke pot anymore BTW… at least for now …  :smt002

thanks for the tip on the bike shop… I have not found a good one here yet, there must be one though
