When is the best time to fish for them? High tide or low tide? I'm itching to go fishing thinking I might hit surf this weekend as I am bored as hell. I used to fish them a lot at Ocean Beach, look like nothing left there. I just never paid attention to the tides. Since Im going a bit further I want to just make sure I time it right. Thanks for any intel

I used to be big on high and low. Now i just go when i have time. I look for deep pockets and currents. Suprised on how close to shore some are. Caught a 13 incher so close to shore today. I practically took a few steps back and he was out of the water. Good luck. P.s. there are no more fish out there. Dont bother  :smt044

Ditto. Just go when you can.

The basic rule is one hour before and one hour after high tide...but on the beaches I fish up here it doesn't really seem to matter.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...
