Power cable question- yellow

FF: Lowrance 5x Chirp with GPS

I'm not good with electronics, so give me some advice please. On the power cable, the yellow colored cable is the ground, right? After I connect the black and red cables to the connector and battery, what do I do with the yellow?

I don't have that model but that yellow cable might be for another optional feature.  Usually for DC power you only need 2 wires: power and return/ground.  I searched the manual but can't find any info on the power cable!  Maybe Bill can help you.

In another post I read it is not used. I just installed mine and did not use it.

Just the black and red John.  Cut the yellow off as well as the other set of cable  and Welcome Back!

Just need Red & Black.  The yellow is a "trigger" used to turn on other pieces of equipment when used in a network (so that you don't have to press power buttons on all the other items too)

If you hang the yellow wire off the side of the kayak, it's like a free shark shield! Just don't dangle your feet in the water...
