Explain to me how "higrading" is illegal? I'm not aware of any law that states I have to keep every legal crab I catch until I have my limit. We can release small keepers and retain the big ones if we want.

I keep the first ten (or however many I want) legal males I catch, as long as they aren't haggard and missing too many limbs.

What you are doing isn't higrading.  It is just what higrading looks like.  HIgrading is keeping a limit on your boat, continuing to pull traps and trading out the smaller ones on your boat (or kept in a holding trap like you use) for the bigger ones in your traps.  So even if you aren't doing that, by keeping crab in your traps after checking them while keeping a limit in your boat it looks like higrading, which the wardens do care about.  It also puts you over the possession limit.

Ah, I gotcha. And I agree that would be illegal.

No culling for me. Once I have my limit in possession (whether on my boat or in the "holding trap") I'm heading in.

However leaving crabs in your pot, after you retrieve your limit, is still considered "fishing" and not illegal.

Huh? While I know that a whole lot of you like to do this, it is not legal.

I want to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

Day 0-
I drop 5 traps and leave them out for an overnight soak.

Day 1-
I come back in the morning and pull 3 and get my limit with the third.  I rebait and drop the traps back down after checking them and clearing the crab out of them.

I leave the other two out without checking them.

Day 2-
I come back the next day and start the process over again after having consumed or given away my entire catch from Day 1.

..............

At what point(s) did I break the law?  Or are we talking about something else?

Your example seems legit. It would be illegal if you dropped your third pot back down without clearing the remainder of the crabs in it.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

True, you can't have more than 10 dungies in your possession at any given time (in your kayak, cooler, or fridge at home). But I wonder...if you bring home 10 on day 1 and boil & clean them, but don't consume all of them (and put leftovers in hte fridge/freezer)...can you go back out and harvest 10 more the next day? Because I thought that once you begin to prepare them for consumption, they are no longer included in your possession limit/?

Technically no, they must be completely consumed or given away.

As a practical matter, if there is a warden going through your fridge you have way way bigger problems than an over limit of crab.
