Alright many of you saw me post this on facebook, but I thought I would share here as well.
A couple weeks ago I decided to order up some equipment to make my own jigs. Well I started out making some small shakey heads for bass. Got bored real fast so on to ocean heads. The mold is a standard 3-4oz shad head that has been modified so that the jig takes 15mm doll/stuffed animal eyes.
I poured and coated a test jig last night and I must say I damn happy with the results. I'm heading to the valley this weekend to stock up on some different colors eyes, jig hooks and possibly some different colors of powder paint.

All painted and baked. The eyes fit so snug that no glue is needed.

nice work... how much weight is loss from the eye opening?

also, not sure how long those eyes would last bumping on the reefs

nice work. I like the eyes and the variety that you have to choose from.

Cheers,
Brad

I'm not sure about the loss of weight, but I'm sure it's almost nothing since the 5/8" dia. Mounting place for the eye adds quite abit back.
Only time will tell about the durability of the eyes, but if they can withstand being on a kids toy they should be fine.

Really nice! What if you used regular 3D eyes but in the space between the eyes, put in a couple small bb's or maybe a small glass rattle might fit in there. Rattling lead head... WHAT!!! Hell, BransonBaits.com would love to carry those, get some of those for the tourney slugs. That would be killer bait! :smt003

Thanks guys. Not really looking to sell any at this point. Maybe after they've been run through the ringer and hold up well.

My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it
