Anyone know if there are any six pack boat trips, or anything similar that is relatively close catching tuna? Am interested in a day trip. Thanks for any intel!

Try contacting capt.Kahn at northcalsportfishing.com. .

In my humble opinion, he is your best shot at tuna.  He is based in our neck of the woods again after fishing SoCal for the epic season.  My son and I went out with him a couple months ago and had an absolute slayfest on the yft.

I went out for salmon a couple of times this year with Tom at FishOnSportfishing - http://fishonsportfishing.com/ -- and he works his butt off for you. He's been running tuna trips lately - I'm not sure if he's launching these days from SC or HMB.

Cheers,
Brad

+1.

Tom will trailer to either SC or HMB, depending on where the action is.

Is the tuna close enough to shore for a day trip?  I haven't heard anything yet about the warm water coming closer.

We're talking bluefin tuna here.  They've been running pretty close, way closer than albacore ever do, at about 10-12 miles from Santa Cruz, with the occasional spot even closer.

Have heard good things about these guys lately: http://chartlecharters.com/fishing-report/
There's also the MegaBite: http://www.montereybaycharters.com/
Not sure what happened to Reel Sportfishing w/Gerry?
I think Stagnaros has a Six-Pack boat: http://www.stagnaros.com/report/
The Kahuna out of Moss Landing is a real productive boat, albiet not a Six-Pack: http://www.kahunasportfishing.com/

But the wx is changing for the worse and nobody is going out this week.

Fishkraft was looking for one more person to fill a 6 pack for a trip tomorrow out of Bodega. Don't know if the spot was filled and if the trip is still on.

I don't think Khanh is doing BFT charters up here because the bite isn't justifying it. I was out there on Sat and heard on the radio that Fishon (or was it serra bella) had scored 12 this year. Non for us but we learned how to fish the socal waters in our backyard. I read on CS about bridling baits -- works and my macs lasted all day.
