I have a set of round Yakima bars on my Subaru Outback. The AI fits nicely with the AMAs and sail, all to one side of the bars. There should be enough room to fit a J-cradle for when I'm carrying a 2nd kayak. Any thoughts on which J-cradle to get? Thule or Yakima? Is wind resistance a hazard with these or just a nuisance?

Any other tips?
Thanks!
Andrew

Both Yakima and Thule j racks should work on those yakima round bars and the thule square bar. It just depends on which brand you want.

All will work. I like thule....
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

What did I miss? Post a screengrab of the important part. I'm not scrolling through 15 pages.

Thule are better quality than Yakima, in general. I am more than satisfied with my Thule 815 j-racks (slightly older model that I bought from REI in 2009). I got them so I can carry 2 kayaks at once: narrow kayak upside down on crossbars and wide kayak in the j-rack. Easy to put on & take off, so I only attach them when needed. Here they are for under $100 new. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3104997

I have also heard positive things about the Malone j-racks from friends who use them, and I think they'll fit on the round bars too.
