That is what they say... Seems to charge well enough in full sun that my battery stays fully charged all day fishing and only starts discharging battery when sun goes down. NOT waterproof but I put it in a map bag to keep it dry...

Hey Pat - Maybe I am missing something but does Trickle charge only.

Good call, wrong link. I think the description on that particular amazon seller was wrong. Because other sellers have the same charger listed as .75a output. Which is sufficient for most 12v SLA batteries if you have a few hours.

If you need a quick recharge, maybe checkout the portable jump starters. Especially if weight or space isn't a concern.

D'oh! Sorry about the threadjack haha...

So if I don't go solar, etc., maybe a fall-back is just a Noco Genius 3500 for regular charging with an outlet. And could I use it off a car inverter to charge the battery while driving to the next lake, or while car camping?

That's what I do when I'm car camping...use a cheapo power inverter to plug my battery charger into the cig lighter.

Check this out: I just googled the brand I have because it works great--Schumacher 3amp charger/maintainer. And I found this one that comes with a cig lighter adapter!

The important thing is how many AMPS can your battery take. Too many AMPS and you burn or melt the battery insides. Best to look at your battery then match it up by amps.

I use a cheap charger and a cheap power inverter to charge mine if there are no outlets around.  However if there are power outlets that I can use, I made a lockable enclosure to charge my FF battery and VHF out of a plastic case and a hole drilled in it that I can run a powerstrip cord out of.  Then I just look for the bathroom and lock it up to the sink and charge.  :smt004

If I had a 2000, I'd bring the mixer and Mackie's along.  :smt001

Okay, how's this for $70 on Amazon?
