Lots of ways around 37 if you are crafty.
Nothing biting out this way anyhow. Save your gas. :smt002

I've been stuck in all of them during that kind of weekend....except going through Clear lake and I-5 south.

505/128/29/river road. Shhhhh....
128/29/Petrified Forest Road/Porter Creek Road/River Road ... for those that haven't taken the route before. You could also take Oakville Grade or Spring Mountain Road over the hill from 29 to 12 in Sonoma Valley. Lots of ways around that mess.

That's great, but I have to get onto I-80 east.
Both 37 and going Napa are a clusterbomb.
Any easy ideas to get to Sacramento and avoid the mess?

Sorry, I was offering suggestions to get people to/from the coast. Where will you be coming from when heading back to Sac ?

This is for future reference.
I've been stuck 2 or 3 times over the years and it is a friggin' nightmare trying to get home from the coast to Placerville.
I hear people mention that "if you know the way" it ain't so bad, but apparently I don't have a clue.
Just looking for suggestions to get from say Ocean Cove to Sacramento during hell weekend race weekend
to avoid the mess.
I'm thinking Ft Bragg area would be a better bet. Up I-5 through Clear Lake to avoid the whole race crap.
A little longer for sure, but probably faster all things considered.

Dude... Just go around it.
Think Berryessa.
In reality searspoint is dinky. Yeah it messes up 37/12/121
avoid that and go over 505/128

Not too hard.

Or, stay your ass home till next weekend.   :smt044

Did the Google Map thing for the 505/128 route. Now I see it.
But according to GM Albion is only one minute more from my house.

Or, stay your ass home till next weekend.   :smt044
