Prevailing conditions sent me to the closest Res. at 6:45am.Planned to troll for those BIG-Mt.Lassen trout, but keep getting SUCKED IN to tossing my only lure that has caught me bass so far "el SENKO" ~Grn.Pumpkin, with the hopes that one of the tosses will be SUCKED-UP by a FAT-FLA.STRAIN-HOGG !
My indicater flag said low wind at first light.......by 7:45 it was HOWLIN'  so I stuck to the protected edges along the tullie lines and landed three did not set hook hard enough on two  :smt013  shouda, coulda, woulda had a nice limit :smt010    first caught(no pic)was a 15"

First pics are the second LMB on the day...19" FLA. LMB  caught at 1:oopm   check out the "WARM A's HAT" pimpin' huh

S.P.Bay is the first option always...but you know, you gotta make the call each day...never more than two-days of the same conditions on the bay, tide, wind.direction of wind, direction of tide! alot to factor....but when the stars align.......you got to get it then!

The word from some of the bass guys is that them FLA.bass are mostly NOCTERNAL(nite hunters) I keep hookin'em in the mid-day!?!? go figure!

Strong work Adam,
I think my pool of victims have caught on to my senko slinging ways. What used to be my sure thing has stopped producing, for now. Im sure it wont be long before I can say "thank you mr yamamoto" again.
I caught most of  my larger fish during the midday this year too.
But bass are definately active some nights. Its just being out there when it happens. The great thing about night fishing is that all of the other creatures of the night are active too. Very creepy sometimes fishing in the places LMB like at night.
Does your FF help you out when fishing tullies and shallows?

The FF helps in finding the DEEPER water, then I look for a shallower area thats got some STRUCTURE or CHANGE along the shoreline in that immediate area.I've only been flippin' these SENKOS for 1/2 a year and have had success every trip! I've got to get me one of them cold-water pigs on the CRAWJIG next!
I've only nite-yak'd at Mendo during BAMII without success, but have a bad hunger to do it again...somewhere...soon!

Adam,
that "nocturnal" info has some recent validity. This fish was reported being over 11#s and caught at 1:30 am 11/19/06.
The picture has some serious photo presentation tactics used but is still a clearlake monster caught at night.
no word on what was used to entice this behometh.

That looks more like I'm fooling you smile than a look what I caught. Not that big looks as though he couldn't put his hand in his mouth.
11lber could swallow a bowling ball.

Yeah, I was being generous myself, but didn't want to sound like TOO much of an ass.
