Muscles (the paddling kind) + technique.
The kayak matters too. But a good paddler in a crappy kayak can usually go faster than a poor paddler in a fancy kayak.
Btw Chet, if you ever want to try diving from a Revo in Monterey area, just send me a message. Although mine's a 2010; not a 2015 (which might be even harder to reboard with the new seat, now that I think about it...just my speculation though).
