my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

We have filters on the refrigerators and they seem to  work pretty well.  I guess we will just have to get used to the odor when showering and brushing our teeth.   Come on RAIN!
Use water from the fridge for brushing your teeth.

Even with this new slightly off taste/appearance, we should consider ourselves very lucky.

I spent a week out in Abilene Texas for work a couple months ago, and this is what came out of the hotel tap:

I agree!  At least it's "clean" water.  Far better than many places on the planet.   Rain is coming Sunday.  Let it pour!

We use a Brita filter for making coffee and it seems to work pretty well.  We generally make espresso and the coffee flavor is bold enough to mask any other flavors that might still be in the water.  If I decide to brew again. I'll need to get a good filter.  Until then, I'll be buying beer.

Martin,        Next time you're in this area, bring a couple 5 gal carboys with you.    Our Tap water is incredible.   It's Unclorinated well water, fairly low mineral content.     We've got the best water in the entire county.    Great for Pale Ales,,, and low enough mineral content for Pilsner styles.
Sometimes the fish isn't the only prize.

Thanks Jim!  Brewing has slipped away from my calendar for a while.  Fortunately, there are some amazing brews being produced these days.  I have been enjoying Sierra Nevada's Hoppy Lager and Hop Hunter lately.  If you like hoppy brews, and I do, they're very tasty!  With the RCG season opening early this year, brewing is going to have a low priority for my time for a while.  I saw "fresh" Halibut at Nob Hill Grocery store yesterday for $21.95 a pound.  It looks like fishing is going to be a money saving activity with prices like these.  Just one more reason to go fishing!  See you at GS?
