Rescued a cat out of a tree. 3/9/15

Decided now that I've got an extra hour afterwork I needed to get out for a bit. So I picked up my son from school and headed out to the free launch at melones. Unloaded rigged up at headed out towards the bridge. As soon as we got under the bridge I snagged my jig near the bank. As I paddled over to pop it loose I noticed a catfish hanging out in the top of a tree. After retrieving my jig I paddled over to check it out. Well turns out a bank fishermen had caught him and he wrapped himself up around the tree and got broke off. I was able to snag the line between him and the tree and pull him up. Popped the hook and sent him swimming. Spent about another hour tossing jigs for one little 14-15" spottie. Before heading home.

here kitty, here kitty, now take it easy. take it easy. there you go. NOW GET IN THAT FRYING PAN  !!!

It's only about 100' from parking to water,and the lake is low. From the 49 launch its a fairly short paddle to several coves or even into coyote creek

Once again, Sorry Mam'/Sir, we don't rescue cats from tree, Why..... Have you eve seen a dead cat stuck in a tree??? . Great report and pic, nice work freeing the kitty.

Doesn't the freed animal usually turn around and grant you three wishes for your kindness?

When my (wife's) cat was stuck in the top of our 60ft palm tree...this is exactly what the fire department said!

Nice going on rescuing that cat!  Man, I envy you guys that live close enough to a body of water to just put in for a quick session.

 I've had to use this example to more than one home owner.
