So, I was on the fence about ordering another reel. Because the regular shipping was another $12.95. But I checked back today, and they are now offering an option for free shipping...which makes the total cost $129.95. OK where's my credit card? 

Since you're keyed in on all the deals......post up if you find any black friday deals on a Lowrance Elite 7 Chirp.   

Saw a little something on the Elite 7 HDI but not the CHIRP model yet.

Is Chirp worth passing up a good deal on the HDI?

Is Chirp worth passing up a good deal on the HDI?

Looks like the CHIRP models just dropped $100 on MAP pricing.  The Elite HDI models do such a good job of processing the broadband to begin with, some say its hard to do better while some of the screen shots I've seen say that it does a better job.  Similar to the quality of the down-scan imaging, just in full color like the broadband.  I will say this ... ive got the wheels turning to get my Elite 7 CHIRP ... for comparison purposes only, of course    Based on the CHIRP being new & the $100 drop in MAP (manufacturers advertised price), my feeling is we won't see any great black friday pricing on the CHIRP models this year.  I think the better deals will be on the discontinued Elite 4 (not HDI) and the Elite 4/5/7 HDI models.  Bass Pro will have the Elite 4 on blowout for something like $169?  Mind you ... it is an older unit they want to get rid of.

I just cruised the W.M. web site & see the Elite 7 CHIRP for $699 with 83/200/455/800 transducer vs the Elite 7 HDI (gold package with gold card) with the same transducer for $669.  Differences in the two packages is CHIRP vs HDI & the HDI comes with the gold card.
