Mel, would the old sailing rudder and turbo fins work? Or did they change all that as well.

Herb - Yes the old sailing rudder and turbo fins fit the 2015 just fine.  I fished with Elusive last week at TC, he took his 2015 Outback.  He switched to turbo fins and sailing rudder.  It worked just fine.  Don said the new Glide Mirage drive was easier to pedal.  He was keeping up with my AI w/o amas  :smt003.

That is one sweet looking ride.

I'm waiting to demo the new Revo VS Outback before upgrading.

I'd be REALLY interested in how you rig up the boat for fishing.  I know there aren't any rod holders up front and it looks like there's not much real estate for installing accessory rails.

Adam - It comes from the factory with the shorter blue ST Fins.  I upgraded to larger turbo fins.

Pat - Thats a great question.  Hobie says its based on the Venturi Effect. I will definitely try it out and see how fast water drains.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venturi_effect
When a fluid such as water flows through a tube that narrows to a smaller diameter, the partial restriction causes a higher pressure at the inlet than that at the narrow end. This pressure difference causes the fluid to accelerate toward the low pressure narrow section, in which it thus maintains a higher speed.
