It would be nice to hit the North, Northwest ends of Angel Island for some fishing. Does anyone know of any launches from Belvedere or Tiburon?

Never done it myself but I think you could probably launch right in downtown Tiburon. Its been years since I've been there and I think the shore is a bit rocky but not impassable.

If I remember right there is a marina/harbor just west of there which may have some sort of hand launching facilities.

What are you after out there?

Seems like you could launch from Shoreline Park in Tiburon near the Ferry terminal. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Shoreline+Park/@37.8726667,-122.45302,18z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x8085847c233f199b:0x85bf9ca28dd3e097

Could also launch from Paradise if you time the tides right.

I'd be interested in doing the trip, too.

You should run into sum butts around angel island. Thursday the tides look really good for butts. I'm trying to go butt fishing Thursday if my buddy can get the day off. I'll be out in his boat. Would take my new yak out, but waiting for my elite4 HDI  :smt003

Thanks for that info Aaron. Yea I seen that spot but after reading the previous post, I think I would fill akward launching there and worry about getting towed for sure..I know sausalito cause ive been there before but that would make it quite a peddle or paddle to AI. But it does look doable. And yes I am familiar and aware of them currents on Raccoon straits. Just looking for another good launch point to get to some real fishy grounds! ...I looking for whatever bites my anchovy or perch. :smt002

There is nowhere to lunch over there and don't even go near that marina the old guy there that watches the place and is Sirius dick  you could luanch across in Sausalito but then all the bumbs that live over there break into your car I pretty much gave up trying to launch that area .

If you do not mind an extra drive Ricci  I would go out to Crissy fields in San Francisco easy beach launch . St. Francis yacht harbor has some good halibut fishing that is close by as well . You can also get live bait from the distributor at pier 45 in S.F. These are my old stomping grounds and would like to fish it again soon with my kayak.

Ive seen people launching from paradise when Im on the pier fishing it seems feasible to go there, only real problem i could think of is maybe how big of a load you gotta bring back up the hill. and the parking is legit. no bums in the vicinity.

Ricci I've walked around looking for a place to launch off the Tiburon peninsula, but haven't found a decent spot. There is a harbor to the right of the town that might work. Problem is where to park with in reasonable distance. The place has changed so much since I used to live in Marin. It's so snooty in Tiburon. Mostly a place to over pay for everything. Focused on shopping and restaurants.  The striper fishing used to be great along the wall. Back when you could park across the street and fish off the rocks. Now there's a tiny spot to park with 20 min parking. Unless you want to pay SF parking fees at the lot down town.

We launched my big double off Paradise for some salmon trolling at California City last year  No fish were taken. But we saw some on the surface.

The launch was a bit of a grunt, packing the boat and gear down from the parking area, but with wheels it would be pretty nice.  The park is first rate, and appeared pretty safe.  Entrance/parking fee was required.  Depending on current this launch would serve well for access to Angel Island.  Check the tide/current tables and give it a go.
