Hey all,

I'm new here - ran into some guys pointing me to this site to learn more about the art of kayak fishing of the coast here in Monterey.  I've been out a few times on borrowed or rental kayaks and had a good time, but still learning and still a bit unsure of myself.  I grew up flyfishing in the Rockey Mountains so this type of fishing is a bit different for me.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome wooley bugger! Is your name a reference to your favorite fly or...something else? Lol there's a lot of great info on here for Rocky Mountain natives like ourselves who aren't used to the salt. Where do you hail from?

Pablito Pescador,

Yep, first fly I learned to tie too.  I grew up in Utah, but spent summers in Idaho and Montana around Island Park new Yellowstone.    I'm happy that some folks on here knows what a Wolley Bugger is.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome to the site. Not many flyfishing options locally but there are a few. It just means you'll have to learn some new tactics for the salt!

Welcome. Haven't fly fished from the yak yet, but it's in the plans.
