Thank you all for watching. Like most of you, I was really actually quite surprised to find the camera.  I had come to terms that I had lost the whole rig.

My neighbor mentioned that he had a friend who was an accomplished freediver / spearo.   He immediately called Dan and asked him if he was interested in helping me out.  He said no.  WTF?  It was suggested that I go talk to him myself, so I did just that.  His place of employment is right around the corner from my house, so I immediately left to talk to Dan the Diver myself.
After a brief conversation, I was able to convince Dan that I knew exactly where and how deep the camera was.  I also had to flash a wad of 20 dollar bills.  By this time, I had Dan’s attention.  The only concern was murky water and distance off shore.  This made him understandably uncomfortable.   I reassured him that I would be right there with him, though topside. Also promised, was a no judgment guarantee if and when he decided to end the search.  With these understandings, Dan was in.

I went home and prepared the kayaks.  Dan arrived on schedule at 8am.  We had coffee and looked at a picture of the devise he would be looking for in the dark murky water. We were on the water by 9am and Paddled directly to the location.  The video tells the rest of the story.  Found my camera and made a new friend.  I love life!!!   :smt004

Also on a a side note.  I just ordered 100 lbs braided line that changes color each 10 meters, and some pre-tied 130 lbs Flouro leaders (3ft) for a top shot.  That should get the camera out of most situations. But as Tote so eloquently said, "nothing ventured, nothing gained".

That is so cool! I love happy endings...
Maybe string a small, sliding bobber/float inline, with a bobber stop about 10ft up the line? Then if the line breaks above the stop, there will at least be a small bobber floating above the lost camera & fins.

Did it capture any cool footage while it was lost at sea?
