And actually I've been meaning to put a bunch of different kayaks on a shipping scale to test the "honesty" of the claimed weights.

agreed, I'm just going by what I saw on the older Hobies, 05, 58lbs, and felt like it… the newer ones I saw something that said 62lbs…  agreed on the AI,  total Bioecthc  …

no way to get a center on  that thing… the Outback, I lift it like a Fire ladder, set it on my shoulder and can walk with it forever, well less and less these days…   :icon_weelchairbb:

should check out the propel,,, see if that bugs my knee as much as the Hobie system is these days...

That Propel drive looks interesting, a propeller and it goes in reverse.

But...I think my dream kayak is like an AI with one ama, no pedals, and made from very lightweight composite.  Stability, lightweight, paddle, and SOT.  I haven't seen anything like this yet.

Arent you just talking about an outrigger canoe then? The newer ones are sit on top style although not really made for fishing.

Maybe it's an outrigger canoe, but I've never seen a canoe like our SOT kayaks.  I would never use an old style canoe that can fill with water.

I'm sure someone could attach a modern aka to a stealth profisha. Something like these http://www.huki.com/index.php?page=Outrigger_Bargains

Hahahhaahhahaha.
Welcome dude. Gotta say it's the first debate welcome we've had here I believe.

Anyways hope you get a goo boat and it helps you catch a lotta fish. I can't help with the weights of those boats, I know they all weigh more than I can afford!

I think the only thing i'm having with choosing is whether the slayer or revo paddles better. I personally like the revo with the option to sail but i've never sailed before and having to register it would just be more pain.
On the other hand the slayer weighs in at 85# making it a little harder to lift but it has a nicer seat and the ability to reverse. I'm only a couple miles  from the berkeley marina and am thinking of biking to and from. for more exercise.
