Nice,  I usually find them between rocks and sand. They lay in the sand waiting for smaller fish to come out of the rocks then ambush them, or by natural drop offs.

Paradise, SC and ARW all have these natural structure. As a result these also tend to be "hotspots".

Thanks for posting that. Got to have good eyes to spot a buried fish! I wonder what their strike radius is when they're buried, i.e. how close do you have to get your lure to get a hali to commit? That would dictate how thoroughly you have to fish a spot to up the odds of enticing a strike.

Thanks Howard, I just spent the last hour watching halibut videos on youtube...that video was pretty sweet.
I'm halfway through this video of a 2-day trip to Santa Rosa island where 17 guys got 37 wsb and 75 halibut (avg size 30lbs with 57lbs biggest butt)  :smt101

@4:30 is what a halibut usually does to me on the deck on my kayak haha...
