What's the deal with the revo16? I hardly hear of anyone using them. I would imagine they would be one of the fastest boats out there.  Problems fighting a fish around the nose of something that long?

They're not available yet. But as this kayak is a renamed Adventure with all of the 2015 Hobie upgrades I can tell you there's no problems fighting fish around the nose as long as you can learn to stretch out your arm & lean forward to get your fishing line around the end. FWIW, I could see a new kayaker, especially one 250lb+, might struggle getting used to the narrower 16ft kayak. The stability is good but definitely nothing like an Outback. You won't see anyone standing up casting in an Adventure/Revo16. The 13 is a great in between size/shape. I'm surprised the Outback has continued to beat the Revo13 in sales year after year. If they stopped making the 16 I wouldn't hesitate to go back to a 13.

I'd vote Outback, for what it's worth. A true jack of all trades.

I know you say you don't fish saltwater that often. But... we all said that once.

Go for the Adventure or the Revo (16?),

+1 You wont regret it. Fastest (manpowered) yak out there.
