Recently me and my buddy went fishing for leopard shark and we didn't catch anything out the Elkorn Slough wondering if anyone had any some tips or advice. Looking for hookups and bait advice.

Used to catch them on cut baits (Jack Smelt or Mac).  I don't think they're picky eaters.

I just picked one up on squid at the Bolinas lagoon, with a circle hook on a sliding 5oz lead

In Moss, I'd try the area near hwy 1 or all the way backbehind kirby park...go right from the launch and find the channel. Squid, sardines, smelt work. There was a great report from shore recently with info: http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=53079.0

Beware:  most of the slough is a preserve (no fishing zone).  Just make sure you are fishing in the right areas.

Yup, no fishing inside the red area: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/pdfs/mpamaps/elkhornslough_morocojo.pdf
Or checkout pgs 16-19 of this document--very helpful to see where the borders are: https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=46084&inline=true
