I met my dad this morning at Kayak Connection at Moss Landing.  He rented a sit inside kayak (wilderness systems 120 something) and we paddled down the slough and back.  About three hours.  We had fun looking at the birds and the otters (there are a bazillion otters there, its like the entire cali population decided to hang out together).  Saw some seals etc....

It was fun hanging with dad, but it was sort of boring.  It looked like it would be a batray/guitarfish heaven though.

After the paddle down the slough my dad got the hang of using his obleeks (sp?) and started seriously putting the hurt on me.  That wilderness system was quite a bit faster than my prowler.

I'm gonna have to go back and fish it before it turns into econazi zone.

DUDE!
Rather timely post...me and MByakker and a few others are going there after work tomorrow! We would like to fish near the HWY 1 bridge because we usually catch small fish back in Kirby Park...just past the Preserve. Kirby Park is cool but I want to catch something bigger and I think the bridge is the place to try. Been to Kirby 3 times in the past 4 weeks and only caught small batrays and thornbacks...no leppies yet.
I'm not bringing a yak...just shore fishing but I think MByakker might bring his. We'll be there from about 5-9.
Even if it isn't the Best place, we should fish it before it closes next November...forever.

Interesting.

Where do you shore fish there?

I would be down with catching a leopard shark, as I have yet not done that.  They are supposed to be quite tastey..

At any rate, I doubt I can make it tomorrow, but would love the report.
