I'd be sure to questions that with Cabelas just to be sure that it includes the quad-frequency transducer.  I can see you're point Ben with their P/N, but at the same time ... they don;t REALLY state that it comes with the quad transducer.  They use terms like "operating frequency" & "capability" but not 'included'.

Thanks for the replies. We've got 1 1/2" ball ram mounts mounted on both sides just in front of the rudder draw handles.(Revo 11 and Revo 13) One for rod holder and one for FF. We're using a ram mount articulating style FF mount so we can swing it around a bit. Good idea to put the phone in that area and see how well we can see it.

A couple of you have mentioned the confusion in ordering and the options. Very true. Get a part number on the Lowrance site for which FF with which options you want for sure and match to the online sale sites as some adds are deceiving without matching the Lowrance part number.

We'll be in lakes, rivers and bays, but little to no ocean scenes so opted out of the GPS. Our phones have GPS should some situation, fog or something come up in a bay.  Waypoints are handy but so's a little cash left in my wallet.

   Sounds like you are armed with the information you need to make the best decision for you.  If anything comes up, don't hesitate to drop us a line for assistance.  The 1.5" RAM ball will be more than suitable for the Elite 4 units.  Fact, RAM makes a specific RAM mount (~$30) for the Elite 4 series & it only uses a 1" RAM ball.

As noted above, all of the P/Ns have the full HDI capability except for the one with no transducer at all. 

Once you start getting into the shady parts of the internet (non authorized retailers) then you don't know if you will be getting everything.

By the way, I'm disappointed West Marine doesn't carry the elite-5 HDI + gold + transducer package online.

The Elite 7 HDI with no transducer is HDI capable with the purchase of an HDI transducer.  The new Elite series 4, 5 & 7 noted as HDI are all capable of producing HDI images with the correct HDI transducer.

I always suggest, when buying, cross-reference what the seller is advertising with the Lowrance web site to make sure you are in fact receiving what you want.  I usually do it the other way around & search on sites by the manufacturers P/N just to avoid confusion (especially on eBay).  I've been buying a lot of vintage honda motorcycle parts for my build & going by the mfg. P/N has saved me on more than one occasion this week already.

I'll mention this to them since I act as a bit of a liason to them with Lowrance - West Marine - fishing community.  I usually cover their stores from Sausalito down to the Monterey Bay Area.  I should be meeting with the Lowrance/West Marine employee in the next few days.  Report back my findings.

Thanks for all the information. Sounds like a few folks made a sale at the same time. If I wanted a 5 inch screen with GPS and comes with a transducer do they make one in black and white or do they all come color?
