Walton's Pond on WAshington blvd in San Leandro is my first stop.  John is a straight up guy with a shop full of bass gear.  He is stocking up on more salt gear since he spends a lot of time in La Paz.  By local!
+1 I give him a hard time though.I call him "senior pond"
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

As long as you dont get banned for not paying for "dead" live bait! :smt003

They're prices are slightly higher than normal, almost at full retail; but they do have what we need to catch local species.

Just review what you bought before you pay for it; word to the wise.....

The lady is cool, the guy has some issues; but from what I hear, he opened a shop by the Berkeley Pier.

When i did frequent there business, they were really good about getting in stock what i preferred and needed.

Small but stocked to the rim with the tackle we need. They will work with you on the prices for reels and rods if you make it clear you are on a budget.
Great place to have a favorite rod rewrapped or repaired. Very reasonable prices on that kind of work.

In the game of biggest fish, if you can't enjoy routinely gettin' your ass handed to you, by great fishermen, then you don't belong in the NCKA.
