Thanks for the report guys, wish I could have made it.  Looks like the forecast was off again, I recall seeing it showing 5kts or less with 4-5ft swells.

Way to stick it out and get your ling limits though!

Steve (Dry Bones and Brian,

This past fishing trip to HMB was the worst fishing day in the last 3-4 mos. since I started kayak fishing. The monster tide swings from High tide+ at my launch site by the old pier was almost covered with water and the low-tide coming was the opposite. Trying to put the wheels on and pull my Hobie for about 50-100ft. of sandy mud to get to the launch ramp.

Between snagging my crab line on my turbo blades in the am, snagging my brand new Diamond lure and freewhelling my reel, and pedaling against the wind and currents was hard work. I knew by noon that this was not going to be a good day, so I head in early to try to pull my crab trap out and must have been pedaling around for an hour, thinking that I was hallucinating or something that I could not find my dayglo yellow buoy in the area that we first dropped it before heading out.

The best part of the day was meeting you 2 guys.
Thanks for your Aloha and generosity and knowledge of the ocean.
Brian, thanks for the Ling.
Meeting you guys made my day!!!!

I felt that I had run the Boston Marathon after I got home, legs aching, but grateful to meet some good people. The lesson for me is letting go and being grateful for having a good family, good friends and human connections that money can't buy.
By the way, Steve did you get a personal post that I send to you and Brian. I attached something that I wrote a few years ago reflecting on Japanese New and growing up in Hawaii.
Take kea Bruddahs!!
Mahalo.

Damn, bruddah, sorry to hear about that.  I was super bummed to miss out on the trip. Saw the wind forecast and was wondering about conditions out there. Way to stay positive on it, though.

Here's to good year anyways.
