Between browns and the peninsula the deepest spot I saw was about 90'. It is scary low. It took less than 5 mins to paddle all the way across the lake from Browns to the point.

I spent the day in granite bay area, trolled for trout a awhile but no action . The bass fishing was far better got a few right around 3 1/2 - 4,lbs . I lost a few more that I just could not hook. All were caught with swimbaits slow reeling just over the bottom on rock structure. Met sandbag and HookSetR was looking for you rockfish but did not see you ,catch you next time. Fun day great winter weather !

Being worried about having to walk to get to the water I braved it and headed off early to Granite Bay. Well not sure which way to go to launch I went all the way to the farthest launch/road and headed down as far as I could go in the dark. Soon I saw a sign stating this area closed and headed back up to the road located before the one at the end.  Heading down that road I got way down there but in the dark could not see if the road continued or if it was dry or muddy. Not wanting to chance it I went back up top and waited until it got a little lighter.

Now lighter I drove over to the first place I tried as I saw a couple of trucks headed down that way to ask them if they knew where to launch. They said to go back to the road before and just follow it all the way out and I will see the road in the dirt. So following their directions I went down the road and first passed the low water ramp. Next I got to the lower-lower water ramp and drove down it and saw where the road continued and followed it. Following the road I finally got to the lower-lower-lower water ramp which is the one currently being used and was able to launch with no problems.

I started the morning throwing a rip bait at the island right past the launch and then turning left and following the bank it with no takers. Looking around I could see a steep bank with lots of rocks going all the way to the water on the other side and farther down the lake. I paddled over to the bank and started using my go to technique the dropshot. Shortly after I picked up two spots and the smallie pictured. Leaving this spot I went and fished a few other spots with no luck and ended up with only those 3 for the day.

Met Nixster (it was nice meeting you) at the launch as we were getting off of the water at the same time and he had 2 really nice bass. Thanks! for the tip on the bait you were using Nixster.

Have a Merry Christmas! everyone and C-Ya on the water.

I'm glad you guys found some bass, Nice ones to boot!
WE got there late and launched way away from the crowd, While we were making lunch I saw 2 yaks working the shoreline near us, probably someone on the board here ;)
Rain is surly needed, but if the water stays like this for another month I know where I'll be catching my AOTY SMB and Spots!!
