First and foremost I would like to thank NCKA for enhancing my fishing adventures. I have learned a lot and met a few from this site. I didnt get the opportunity to hookup with many of you but the few that I did hookup with it was a pleasure fishing with you. Im going to miss fishing in California. Fishing the big blue was something I will take with me for the rest of my life.
A few months ago you may remember a post of mine (which I never finished), mentioning that I have quit my job and was on a trek up North. On that trek I was fortunate enough to see lots of friends and family along the way. I realized, since that trip, that I miss all of my friends and family enough to relocate. I packed up what I could take and rolled North to Vancouver WA. I know nothing about this area as far as fishing goes but likely I have a couple connections to show me the waters. My buddies that fish up here dont have kayaks and frankly its new to them. We were all raised on drift, jet and inflatable boats. The first thing I heard is the chrome runs year round up here so that will be my main focus until I figure out the lakes and coastal system.
Im planning on converting over to NWKA and introducing myself to that forum in hopes to meet some new local guys and learn the waterways up here. Im open to any input that y'all might have for me in regards to kayaking up in the Portland/Vancouver area. Once again Thank you all for everything and Ill check in every once and awhile to see what I'm missing out on.

Matthew

I drive to Hillsboro 4 times a year to see the grandkids from my oldest son. I'll hook up with you on those trips next year.
Have fun.

Going Fishing?

Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.

Thanks for the contributions.  You will be missed but in good hands up there I'm sure.  I'm sure the salmon and steelhead fishing will make it all worth it.  Good luck!

Right on Matt! Good luck buddy. Thanks for checking in--was wondering what happened to your northbound adventure. That was some great writing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hey, where's the 4runner?

Thanks a lot Pat! It was a pleasure getting to know you bud. The GF has the 4Runner in SJ. Ill be looking for a Taco when the fundage starts to roll in again. Ill complete that forum post here shortly, I hate to leave it the way I did. There was some cool GoPro footage I got on that trip that I need to format and upload.
