man, the new guys get razzed a ton here. I expect it though, lol :smt001

Only the new guys that ask a million questions!  :smt044

You gotta realize that a lot of us didn't have anyone to ask these questions when we first started. We went out, bought kayaks, maybe did a lake run or two for practice, then hit the nearest salt launch guns blazing.  :smt071

It's all in fun, though. We love your enthusiasm. You're the new Jai Boi.

I blame it all on Allen  :smt003. it used to be you could lurk as long as you like and figure out what kinda questions were gonna paint a target on your back  :smt044

Don't worry about it WBTE, you're gonna get razzed no matter what you do. It's all part of the brotherly love  :smt008

I get razzed all the time, but usually deserve it. I don't think I would walk from the hwy down to FR when the next launch is less than ten minutes down the road. After fishing all day I don't even want to walk myself up the hill with no kayak.

Yeah I'm not butt hurt I just think it's funny. I'm one of the most easy going guys you will meet, I don't take stuff personally hardly ever. I am just trying to understand stuff better and get as much information as I can through the forum so I don't have to take as many lumps as I would if I were to go out blindly. Like I says I expect it, I just don't want to annoy people to the point where they roll their eyes and sigh whenever they see my name on a thread.

Don't worry about it bro, I started this badass obsession 3 years ago. Started at ocean cove.....not venturing any further than the mouth. Now I can say that I have lost two salmon at the yak in a tourney. Not really sure if that helps any....but keep reading and asking questions. And just get your ass OTW!!!

Take some lumps bro!  You'll be better for it.  You know we all learn more from our failures than our successes.  We can tell you how and why but until you figure it out, its all theory.  You'll be fine out there on a good day, just don't forget your scopace, if you need it!

is there a time slot/window that is only allowed to fish there? only certain times of the year you can use this area? I have been browsing through past threads briefly and i am seeing a lot of titles and comments about how this area gets closed or it is possibly going to be closed. is that the case right now? i am debating between going there or Timber this weekend so i would just like to know ahead of time. or if someone has a link that would provide me the information that i am looking that would be appreciated also, i dont know where i would be able to find it. thanks ahead of time...

"Wat-choo talkin bout Willis?"

Alright, I got that out the way. I believe you may be referring to old threads about season limitations/closures for Abalone due to the red tide last year  (that was just last year, right?) and reg changes. Get a reg book online or at your local sporting goods store, even Mal-Wart.

Google the site you want to visit, (or search and READ a bunch of old NCKA threads for great intel, too) get a web address and/or phone number and do some homework. Otherwise, set em up and somebody will be happy to fire on them. At least the ocean kayak fishing season is still open...so it's fairly mellow. Wait til the salt is all closed....

You are less likely to catch it if you've read up on all the topics/locations/rigging/info you are interested in and target questions accordingly. The enthusiasm helps. Sometimes a much asked or previously covered topic might not get any replies other than use the search feature!
