I hit up Capitola this morning.  AlsHobie, Baitman, and scallen were all on the water.

Pretty slow for the most part.  I did have 10 seconds of excitement with a baby thresher though.  Hooked it on the bottom and it made a beeline for the surface where it jumped.  She went one way and my hooks went the other.   :smt011

The water is warm, reading 65+ all morning.  The grounds are loaded with lizardfish.  And once again, the baby octopus were attacking the squid bait.

Heya,,, What happened to you guys?    I drifted off to the west in the fog.          Octopusses  were voracious !    I lost a big one, but still pulled up a couple keepers caught them both on swimbaits even...

Hah!  You went one way, we went the other.  The octopus I caught were small ones.  I caught probably 1/2 dozen.  I'd sit them in my foot well and watch them crawl to the scupper hole and out.  Pretty cool actually.
