I think it's a bunch of bull$#it!
If I saw someone walk into a supermarket carrying an AK and I had the chance to get the drop on him; I'd make sure he was stone cold out and then start asking questions. It's not normal and usually when something like that is out of the norm bad things follow. I'd rather guarantee I'm not going to get shot with that gun than wait to see what happens.
At some point common sense needs to come into play.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Agreed.

I think those guys are a bunch of idiots wasting police officer's valuable time and frightening the public for no good reason at all.

No way I could have been as patient as that officer.

Agreed. There was no need to walk down the street armed like that and scaring the public. I wonder how many 911 calls were made because of these knuckleheads.

I used to walk through town with a shotgun or 22 when I was a kid to go shooting/hunting.  When the police asked what I was doing I told them and the left me alone.  I don't see the need to go loiter on the street corner with an AK for the express purpose of starting a pissing match with a cop.

I'm glad to see that they were allowed to exercise their rights and treated professionally by the police.  It seemed like a pointless exercise though and I'm glad the police checked them out.  We need to know our rights and the police need to follow the law, but this is just inflammatory.

I don't know about these guys, or much about the open carry law, but if I see any regular civilian carrying a weapon in public brandishing it, you can be sure I'm calling LE right away. I understand a lot of guys here support gun rights and I support it too, but there comes a point where there's common sense and just plain stupidity. Okay, I understand why a person would want to carry a conceal personal firearm such as pistols but to carry any weapon openly in public if you're not a Peace Officer is clearly asking for trouble from LE.

I'm not afraid of guns; I'm just afraid of the person wielding them because I can't tell what they're intentions are nowadays with the druggies, crazies, and emotionally unstable... and nutheads who believe they are the law.

Oh how I love the look on people's faces after they finish chowing down Rocky Mountain Oysters! Yup them oysters were good, now how were they made again?

You may have a right to carry, but it is very uncool to act in ways that make other people (me) uncomfortable. This kind of behavior does not advance the cause of gun rights. I read about some people doing this sort of thing at Starbucks a while back, just to exercise their rights...douche move. I'm with Tote on this one- I'm either going to leave, or stand very fucking close. Close enough to do damage.

I'd suspect that if someone were to point a gun on those boys... They'd wet themselves!

I have never seen a cop come out of a squad car in shorts. On bicycle yea, but not from a car. The cop was cool professional, the other guys on the video were just a bunch of knuckleheads.
