Wondering about cell phone coverage at the cove...want to keep in contact with the family while I'm there.

I have ATT, no coverage in the cove as of last month, coverage was available on Whitethorn road just over the crest above town.

a few yrs back I got it using verizon....But I wouldn't count on it. I normally do a pay phone call. if there is an emergency I have them call the hotel and ask for one of the guest rooms since we book the entire place my assumption is somoene would help track me down

I have a mobile cellular booster in the RV, gets me an additional 50miles of service...

If you need to make a call try by my RV.....

I've never had any luck with phones down there. I usually give the wife the campground number and the Tides Inn number in case of an absolute emergency.

Otherwise I tell her I'll call once I am heading home.

Last year I stayed at the north end of town by Abalone Point and had no problems with my Verizon coverage.  Might be worth driving the 2 miles up there to try it out.

Verizon works but someone sabotaged the new ATT tower within a few months after it was completed (that was over a year ago and no plans to fix/replace it). Although I once got 2 ATT bars while fishing in a boat a few miles offshore. There's a payphone at the deli.

I think the motels have wi-fi.  If you can get a password, you could use Skype or a similar app to make calls.
