Looking for Shelter Cove Crabbing tips

Does anyone know some good spots for dungies?  How deep do I need to go?  I'm planning on trying before the GS7 tourney.

Around the Bell buoy in about 60ft of water is one of the good spot for crabbing.

Thanks Sonny.  I was actually wondering the same thing since I've never been there.

We were getting them in thirty feet of water last year near were the beach ends on the left side.... Stay out of the boats channel!!!! I saw many get caught in rope as well last year. Good way to loose your gear and piss the locals off. .. We will be crabbing as well...

The traditional area is a qtr mile south of the Bell buoy in 60FOW. But the last few years, guys have got them closer to the launch in shallower water. Seems like it's either feast or famine with the crabs there.

If you want the big dungies everyone drops their traps south about 1-2 miles near the big white coast guard bout in 60-80 ft.  That's where all the locals drop their pots.

Thanks for posting that, Andy - good advice and important for all to be aware of.  Help each other out when we're there by reminding people to avoid pissing off the locals!
