Futher Muckers!
I parked at the very end of Upper Sunrise today.
I walked to the river to check it out but felt uneasy as my vehicle was the only one there.
I went back to my vevicle and moved closer to the main parking lot because of it.
I was telling Becky about an hour ago how much the tweakers spoil it for those of us who just want to enjoy some fishing.
Just once I wish I cold catch someone in the act.
Really sucks about Chris' purse.
Good luck tomorrow Mickfish.

Which parking lot Mike, the fist picture or the second one. The first one is not bad, I park there a lot on the weekends since it close to the bike trail. Second picture now way in hell- its too secluded and out of the beaten path.

I was at the 2nd lot. Too remote for someone to get caught but not remote enough for someone not to be there.

The parking spot that was badass at Upper was the dirt road that jetted off towards the river. You use to be able to park right next to the water and launch the boat until some nice summer partiers ruined it for us! :smt011 Thanks guys! I use to love to sit out on anchor in the kayak 150' from the vehicle fishing and keeping an eye on it. Those were the good old days and now the gate is forever locked.

Thanks, Eric. I've always been reluctant to fish the A.R. because of (car) safety concerns.

I have been fishing the American river for a few years now(5 years give or take) and i have never had problems with my car specifically being broken into. I have had the car right next to me get broken into at the shad spot off of Colusa in the south sac area.  Just keep your car clean and don't give them a reason to look for something in your ride. if it looks like there is nothing in there then they most likely wont go in it for anything because it will look like there isn't anything of value to go in there and get. But play it by ear, let your intuition "speak" to you. if it seems sketchy... don't park there. if there is a bunch of foot traffic there nothing will probably happen.

Actually the real reason it got closed will piss you off even more.  A bicyclist did not stop at the stop sign at the dirt road and broadsided a car.  That is the real reason it was closed, because a bicyclist did not stop at the stop sign.  Totally his fault, they almost never stop at stop signs, most women do but 99% of the men don't.  And I have and will continue to yell at any of them for not stopping.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
