Just received my "Saltwater Recreational Fishing Attitudes and Preferences Survey" sponsored by NOAA Fisheries Service. Anybody else get one of these? It's the usual survey wanting to know what you fish from, what you fish for and how often. It asks how you get your "information" ...I checked the friends/family and fishing web pages boxes.

The next pages consisted a multitude of questions like "how important is it to" catch fish, catch trophy sized fish, catch you bag limit of fish...on and on. You were given five boxes to check ranging from "extremely important" to "not important at all".  I checked the most appropriate box for me and then hand wrote my best explanation of why I checked that box. I hope they take the time to read my written responses as it might help them rephrase the questions a bit better on the next survey.

The remaining pages consisted of "management strategies and objectives" questions which were focused on restrictions, closures, protecting marine habitats, restoring fish habitat and addressing conflicts between anglers and marine mammals. . I felt this section to be the most alarming and really was careful to check what I felt was the best answer because I believe their database doesn't have any room for my written comments/concerns, but I included them anyways.

The very last page asks for additional comments...they got them including my "attitudes and preferences"

Anyone else get this survey?
