I was banned (many years ago) on another site with a name similar to F...S...Fish'n for not introducing myself within an hour of signing up.
Years ago my brother was the fastest to ever be banned on NCKA ....less than an hour if I remember it correctly..

One of the mods even bragged about banning his own mother.

I also love what you have done with nwka as far as the introductions. I have yet to do mine but for those that don't know it's setup so once you register you are locked out of all boards except the intro board after you post your intro the other boards open up.

Yeah, I've been meaning to set that up here, but have been distracted with other things.  I'll get to it soon.  It's been a nice feature as the newbies have to introduce themselves, and you know how welcoming these communities are!

Last night I wasted an hour of my life on the Hobie AI forum on a thread whereby an owner was attempting to take Hobie to task for the fact that in 25 kt winds, 300 lbs of gear and a following sea the AI would bury a  hull or AMA. The Hobie rep's position was the boat is not designed for those conditions. Looooong story short at some point in the thread 2 opposing posters were arguing about who had the most virulent form of cancer (Skin vs liver) in the heated debate over AI hull design. The experience made me think fondly of NCKA

So far the only DUMB question I have found on this site it the one that is not asked.  You don't ask - you don't learn; be it safety, equipment, fish info, fishing gear, etc.  I may be a bit of an old fart, but I still learn stuff here.

I too was recently lurking on another forum (non fishing/ kayaking) and could not believe the way the members were totally lambasting each other. I turned it off and thought to myself "f@#$ it, I'll figured it out on my own". 
NCKA and it's members are truly great.

Thats another perk... you can ask about stuff completely unrelated to fishing and usually get some very good answers here.
