Yeah unfortunately the odds are that he is going to get clocked. I guess we will have to wait and see.

The backup currently is another 3rd year guy named Scott Tolzien who has looked pretty good at times in preseason. (not that it amounts to a hill of beans)  Kap really doesn't run THAT much most of the time.  When he does, he is usually good about getting down or out of bounds and avoiding big shots.  Actually, more often than not... he just runs untouched all the way to the house.

Thank God he showed up. Know we have a decent QB in Alex Smith.

I hope Alex Smith has a great season w/KC. But I doubt Smith will come close to Matt Cassel's production in 2010 when he threw for 3200yds, 27TDs & 7INTs.

I'm with you.  He's one classy dude that dealt with a lot.  Hard not to root for him.

But I doubt Smith will come close to Matt Cassel's production in 2010 when he threw for 3200yds, 27TDs & 7INTs.

Weren't those close to his numbers in 2011 when the lost in the NFC championship game?

Smith threw for 3144yds, 17 TDs, 5 INTs in 2011 (also sacked 44x). His career high is 18 TDs in 2009.
But I really do hope he kicks ass in KC.

I wish AS the best. He served us well the last couple years, but CK is a friggen blast to watch. The dude is a straight up badass. I'm already amped for NFL '13 and baseball season hasn't even officially started yet.  :smt044
