I like the bass reports.  Gonna have to hit up the Tahoe Keys area this summer...  Is that legal to fish that area?  Private?

I am not surprised. Years ago I took some kids bank fishing at San Pablo Resv.  A lady walks next to me and releases a goldfish into the lake. She had a this happy look on her face like she did the animal a great favor.

I would use Corn or bread balled up to fish for these guys maybe even  some floating soft fish food as well. These fish are carp after all  :smt044

She may have been a buddhist believing that by taking an animal that is destined to be killed (eaten) and releasing it they somehow are doing good.  I respect that in theory even though it's probably symbolic, but in your example it was illegal.  Almost 20 years ago I encountered something similar.  I was showing a friend around at the SF muni pier when an elderly lady stops by us with a box.  She opens it and starts throwing turtles into the bay.  I ran up to her and asked what she was doing but she didn't even look at me and continued chucking turtles over the rail two at a time all the while with this buddha like smile on her face.  I told her the turtles she was releasing were fresh water turtles and that they would die in the bay.  She didn't even acknowledge me and just walks away after releasing the 12 to 15 turtles, still with that manevolent smile and an empty box.

I was a little disappointed..goldfish, I woke up for goldfish! We have a stream, west panther creek, that someone put koi in. I am sure they are worth something. Pretty sure the pool they were in damn near freezes solid in winter too, tough fish.
