1/19 New Melones Res - never been

I'll be there for sure around 8.  Since I will be fly fishing and not trolling I will probably make a bee line straight to one of the coves.

I plan to only fish til about 1 or so, I need to get back home and start getting my rv ready for Crabfest!!!

Had thoughts of showing up unannounced but just found out I'll be helping the mother-in-law.  Best of lucky fellas ... and pray for me!

I will be there for sure around 10:30-11:00ish

Scott there is a small water fall in Carson cove I was told there were some fish stacked at the base of it on wed you may wanna give it a shot

I wanted to get the camper ready today, but discovered some busted water lines due to the freeze we've had, so it looks like I will not make this hook-up as I fix stuff. 
Y'all have fun.  the weather sure is warm; it was 61 here at my house today at 2000' elevation.  Should be an awesome day on the water for you. 

Have you guys thought about using a lead core rig to get deep?  A lot easier and simpler than dealing with a downrigger IMHO. 
FWIW I went yesterday to NM up the river as far as I could go in a boat (past Parrot's Ferry bridge, lots of debris below Camp 9 bridge).  Saw 6 bald eagles and had 3 bass up to 3 or 4 lbs. about 20' down on a downrigger using shad rapalas.  Got nothing on toplining rig using various rapalas.  My buddy got one rainbow about 12" on a super duper and one small bass.  Beautiful afternoon.   

Another awsome day otw it was nice meeting Scott and fishgr shame you couldn't have stayed a while longer.The weather was so nice I didn't even mind the stink of the skunk

Beautiful day on the water. Nice meeting up with Rob, Mike and Tim. Fishing was slow, I got 3 rubber trout on the fly. Saw a bald eagle fly over. Paddle to the other side of the lake with daleshark for the fun of it. All in all the kind of day I like.
