Well i headed out to san antonio lake today to try for some stripers.....i trolled swimbaits and cranks from harris creek to the marina and back. I also drifted shad down deep. I couldnt find fish any shallower than 60ft. I was not able to find stripers just a crap load of little catfish all around 70ft deep....hopefully i will find them next time.... guys in the boats said they were blowin up in bee rock but that was too far for me today...

Its by bradley ca... it is a fantastic lake. I have caught stripers up to the 40lbs range here. The average size is about 15lbs.. the spring time bass fishing is awesome too. You can catch 2lb smallies all day and you can always catch catfish. You should definately try to make a weekend trip there in april or march.

What does a fresh water striper taste like, as compared to a salt water striper?  I hear lake Mead is full of big stripers as well

the freshwater stripers dont taste as good as the salty's but they are still pretty darn tasty. Just gotta cut out the mudline and your good to go
