No your right.you do just go up and grabem.I was just explaining the people that are harvesting them are turning around and selling them.you can go and get em yourself.I've eaten a few that my friend bought they taste like mud.
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

The water in those ditches drains from the fields, bringing with it all that is put on the fields...
I had an old farmhand warn me about catfishing in one, " That water is very hazardous Senior!"

And yes, crawdads work well for Striper. You must cripple them if you are fishing from the bank near structure, as they will crawl into the snags. Used to fish the mokelumne river as a kid, and bring a bring a trap to catch bait.
